Task: Receive Requests For Technology Capacity Support
The Capacity Manager may receive support requests for resolving incidents, events, problem related to capacity. There could also be scenarios where Capacity Manager may have to provide approvals to changes from technology capacity perspective or analyze the impact on technology capacity in case of modifications to existing service or addition of a new service.

Technology Capacity Management provides a point of focus and management for all capacity and performance related issues, relating to technology capacity. While executing day to day activities, service operations may come across capacity related performance issues. These are then passed on to the Capacity Manager. Capacity Manager must provide advice and guidance to handle performance or capacity related events, incidents and problems.

The Capacity Manager may receive requests for support on Technology Capacity Management from:

  • Event Manager, in case of events pertaining to technology capacity
  • Incident Manager, in case of disruption due to issues in technology capacity
  • Problem Manager, for a permanent fix or a workaround on a technology capacity incident
  • Change Manager for impact analysis of a change and approval on the same from technology capacity perspective
  • Business for analysis and review of revision to IT strategies, plans and designs from a technology capacity perspective.
